Adjustable Beds:
Why might you consider getting an adjustable bed? They aren’t just for people in hospitals. An adjustable bed can give you options that no ordinary flat bed can. If you aren’t comfortable sleeping in a flat bed then it may be time for you to consider moving to an adjustable bed. Because when you sleep your legs are straight and your spine is “S” shaped, sleeping on a flat bed can cause gaps in support. If this lack of support is adversely affecting your sleeping pattern then an adjustable bed could help alleviate the discomfort. The easiest way to think of the experience of an adjustable bed is to consider what it is like to sleep in a recliner. Most people who enjoy sleeping in their recliners enjoy it because it most resembles the semi-fowler position, better known as the fetal position. In this position the bodies weight is evenly distributed helping you to breathe easier, and allows you to lie comfortably on your back all night long.
Notice the several gaps between where the body meets the mattress. This can result in tension and discomfort from lack of proper leg, back, and neck support. Adjustable beds can come with a variety of features including not only the ability to adjust the bed to the desired sleeping position, but also with built in massage and therapeutic heat to increase circulation.
